The Police Association recently became involved in negotiations with the Force after it expressed its intention to close the Williamstown watch house over night shift. This decision was clearly linked to resource deficiencies in the area and threatened to compromise community safety.

The Force has now decided to postpone its decision until proper community and member consultation occurs.

The Association believes this is a positive step and will continue to advocate the permanent overnight operation of the Williamstown watch house.
