Free health checks available to all members (37/10)
6 September 2010
The Police Association, the Victoria Police Force and the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) have teamed up with WorkSafe Victoria to offer all police members free health checks.
The 15-minute checks are confidential and will test for a number of Australia's biggest health problems including blood pressure, cholesterol, type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The initiative has been designed to reach members state-wide and to complement the Force's existing Health and Fitness Assessment Program.
WorkHealth checks will be conducted by trained health professionals over a six-month period, starting this month. Members wanting to book or find out when the checks will be available in their area should use the Force's intranet and go to https://portal.onsitehealthsolutions.com.bookings/
Members are reminded that they are permitted to undertake these WorkHealth tests while on duty and all test results are confidential. The Association encourages all members to take advantage of this offer to monitor their health and well being, for more information please visit the WorkHealth website.
