ABOUT THE ROLE:

To be successful in this role, you will be skilled at developing and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders to assist in the management of industrial issues and progress the Association’s objectives.


Applicants should have a good working knowledge of employment law and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.


THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:


  • Advice to, and representation of, members in industrial relations matters, employment entitlements, discrimination issues, individual employment grievances and occupational health and safety and worker's compensation matters;
  • Advocacy before the Fair Work Commission, representing the Association in as well as other courts, tribunals and forums and in negotiations with management, including senior managers of Victoria Police;
  • Contribute to the development and conduct of campaigns including through participating in meetings with members and engagement with delegates;
  • Conduct research on industrial matters.
  • Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations or other relevant fields would be an advantage.
